About Aimee

Aimee is from a small town in northeast Ohio where she currently lives with her husband and two teenaged boys. She attended Youngstown State University for her B.S. in Secondary Education and her M.A. in English.

Aimee’s first career is education; she co-teaches 7th grade at a rural, Appalachian school. It is her passion to share her love of reading with her students, and she makes it a yearly goal to expose students to as many books as possible by simply giving her students independent/silent reading time every day.

Students will read if we give them the books, the time, and the enthusiastic encouragement to do so. If we make them wait for the one unit a year in which they are allowed to choose their own books and become readers, they may never read at all. To keep our students reading, we have to let them.

When not teaching or reading, Aimee can be found in her recording studio. She loves bringing the written word to life through narration. Her favorite fictional genres are fantasy, dystopia, sci-fi, YA, and rom-coms. She also loves reading self-help books, books on leadership, and nonfiction books geared toward helping families and teens succeed. She has a straightforward tone with an American-General accent, and she has been known to sing a song if it’s in her script.
